A Story That Grows – From the Wedding to Max, in Cefalù
Andrea and Giovanni got married in Cefalù in 2019, in one of the most vibrant and international weddings I’ve ever documented. Surrounded by friends and family from every corner of the world, they ended the day with an unforgettable “hora loca” — full of color, music, and joy. Here to see the wedding gallery in Cefalù.
Years later, they reached out to me again. They now live in Guadeloupe and are parents to sweet Max. They decided to come back to Cefalù for a few days, just the three of them, and asked me to capture this new chapter of their story.
Andrea e Giovanni si sono sposati nel 2019 a Cefalù, in uno dei matrimoni più vitali e internazionali che io abbia mai fotografato. Tantissimi amici e parenti da ogni angolo del mondo, una festa travolgente che porto ancora nel cuore. La "hora loca" a fine serata è stata una delle più belle che io ricordi: colori, balli, risate. Qualche anno dopo, mi hanno scritto. Oggi vivono in Guadalupa e sono diventati genitori di un bimbo meraviglioso, Max. Hanno scelto di tornare a Cefalù per qualche giorno e farsi fotografare di nuovo. Solo loro tre, di nuovo insieme in quel luogo così speciale.
Being called back years later is the greatest compliment I can receive. It means the wedding photos meant something. It means a real connection was made — based on trust, care, and shared memories.
Photographing them now, as a family, was moving. Not only for the love I saw between them, but for the beauty of a journey that keeps unfolding. Documenting those stages, one by one, is the most fulfilling part of my work.
Per me è sempre un onore essere richiamata da una coppia dopo tanti anni. Significa che qualcosa, in quelle foto del matrimonio, ha lasciato il segno. Che si è creato un legame di fiducia, empatia e memoria condivisa.
Fotografarli come famiglia, ora, è stato emozionante. Non solo per la dolcezza con cui si guardano ancora, ma per la forza di questo percorso che continua. Raccontare le loro tappe, una dopo l'altra, è la parte più bella del mio lavoro.
